Charles Darwin Photoshop Tennis Contest

Charles Darwin Photoshop Tennis Contest Next Tuesday is Charles Darwin's 199th birthday -- and what better way to celebrate his relevance to the modern age than with an evolving game of Photoshop Tennis?

If you haven't played Photoshop Tennis before, it's simple. Starting with a single image, a player makes a change. The next player adds to that. And so on until the image hits a tipping point of complexity at which it's no longer an image, but an entirely different form altogether.

Say what? Okay, scratch that last bit -- I've been working day and night on an article about the application of complexity theory to evolutionary biology, and once you start thinking about emergent phenomena it's hard to stop.

To get a feel for the game, take a look at this thread. Then head on over to Darwin Photoshop Tennis at Flickr and update the Father of Evolution for the 21st century!
