02/10/2007 - Postdoc in Experimental Magnetism and Superconductivity
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Superconductivity and Magnetism Low-Temperature Laboratory at Ames Laboratory and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University to study novel magnetic and superconducting materials using a range of advanced experimental techniques.
Hands-on experience with lab electronics, cryogenic and vacuum equipment, AC and DC transport and magnetic measurements, 3He, 4He and dilution refrigerator cryostats is essential for this position. The primary responsibility is to operate a new Oxford Instruments Kelvinox MX400 dilution refrigerator. Significant effort will be devoted to the development of new experimental capabilities at low temperatures and high magnetic fields.
